Need spotlight brackets
« on: March 17, 2014, 11:46:39 am »
So, my BMW crashbars on the LC are thicker than the SW Motech bars that I had on my old GS, and now the brackets do not fit around the bars. Can anyone please help me to find a set of these brackets that are compatible with my spots and that would fit around the BMW crashbars on the 2014 LC?

The current mounts are for crash bars and are generic.

Bikegear has model specific brackets as well including ones for the GS 1200.

Gaan koop 'n pypklamp by builders, sny hom in twee, verf hom swart en jy's uigesorteer.

Sal 'n lag rubber tussenin nie werk nie?

we stock/sell BUTTERFLY brackets - their design allows them to fit over a wide(r) range of tubing sizes.

The crashbar does need to be drilled. It does not compromise the integrity of the crashbar, SINCE the bracket strengthens the crashbar in any case.

Stainless steel, R250 per set, with stainless bolts, nylok nuts, etc.
Cheers

Gekoop by 'n privaat ou hier in Nelspruit.

Laat weet as ek kan help.

Keen to hear some feedback on those spots, not their performance, but how the BRACKETRY performs?

We sent 20 back to our supplier, noticing that the spots would 'wobble' on the brackets...

Basically, a MALE raised ridge slots like a keel into a Female groove, then a grub screw hols it tight....

...in theory  ;D

What happened when we sold/nstalled the 1st 2 sets, was that even with the grub screw, the spot wobbled on the bracket, and this when new, leaving our Store....

There is apparently a simple fix using a piece of old bicycle tube, but we felt uncomfortable using a 'fix' lke that n a new product...

The importer then had a special on them, that may not be related to this 'problem'

Just be aware, we loved the concept, it provided an easy solution, but we saw a design weakness, and sent them back.
Just a caution, nothing more
