I've had my 2014 690R for a few weeks - fantastic!!!

I am planning a few longer trips for the future and am trying to figure out the best way to pack luggage onto the bike. I normally travel very light and prefer soft luggage.

Is there a local agent or producer for the RR type of luggage rack suitable for the 690? If there is, please post their details.

What other options are available locally?

I have an aluminium luggage rack, as well as pannier racks without a luggage rack, as well as pannier racks WITH a luggage rack.

I bought a set of Theas racks. Not only the BEST service I ever received from the guy’s, but also very well made rack and fits like a glove! I would defiantly recommend them. Big thanks for making a plan that I could have the rack in time for my trip.

I've just fitted the luggage rack as supplied by Flying Brick. Its a superb fit, and exactly what I needed.

I still think the Giant Loop bags are the best for the 690. You can still ride like a hooli and not worry about a rigid hard rack that can be eina if you fall on it. Super light , goes on and off in a minute , strong as hell and looks the business .

I have installed the rack I bought from Flying Brick. It's true, the installation is easy and the rack fits perfectly. I have to commend Flying Brick both for their product and their service!

I have welded a small plate between the vertical rods on the rack to accommodate a Roto Pax bracket. Without an extra fuel tank one has to make provision for extra fuel.

One can remove the Roto Pax bracket from the plate and attach any luggage system

My next objective is to have both the Roto Pax and the luggage on simultaneously. This will require a small modification to the luggage however. I'll start working on that next.

I've looked at your soft luggage that's designed for the racks you make.

I'd like soft luggage (side panniers) built to work with the 690 rear fuel tank filler (without luggage removal to re-fuel), in black waterproof material. I want something well thought-out, practical, that fits well, and can take the punch. I want a three-day adventure ride solution that fits the Toys2Go racks PERFECTLY. Kind of like the Giant-Loop kit, but custom made for the 690 rack system. Must be black though, and must be waterproof... I want to be able to sleep dry after dropping my bike during a water crossing...

Can we talk about this?

PS: Still as happy as a clam with my Toys2Go racks!! Fantastic quality, excellent value. Like a factory-supplied carrier system on the KTM 690.

Sjoe ouens, dis die bike wat ek wil koop, maar ek moet nog so rukkie wag tot my 3 jarige groot genoeg is om saam te ry! Het net vandag gewonder oor die Luggage Rack. Bly om te sien mens kry so iets. Ander vragie vir jul ouens met 690's, het jul groter petrol tanks op of hoe gemaak?
