Dr650 throws away spark

I thought it was the carb but http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=163807.0
but we cleaned it thoroughly and the problem persists.

IT sounds as if sometimes when running as if the bike throws away spark

What I have noticed is that sometimes when it doesnt want to start, that if you remove one of the spark plug cables then it starts.
Sometimes there is spark sometimes not

Stator coil?
On/off switch?
Something else?

Can you remove and replace the cables?

That seems to point toward the ignition coil or perhaps the suppressor caps .

Ek het 'n DR650 op leen en die bike het ook skielik begin loop en ruk  so erg dat jy kon nie 80 uit hom kry. trek die carb maak skoon check plugs, nog steeds dieselfde. Toe kom ek agter as ek staan dan trek die ding lekker maar sodra ek gaan sit begin hy hoes en poep vir 'n vale. Dit is toe drade wat deur geskuur het aan lekker kant tussen tank en frame en ook aan die regterkant onder tank dit kan dalk ook jou probleem wees.

Dux how do I figure out which one of your two options?

Yours sounds more like dodgy coil , but replace the suppressor caps with NGK equivalents , about R35 each .

I have found one suprressor cap sofar, still looking for the second one.

And I wonder if it is not the cable or caps, because 3 or 4 times now when the bike doesnt start i just jiggled the cables gently and the she started

Ignition coil is what the plugs connect to via the suppressor caps , which cables are you referring to , the wires from the coil to the plugs or from the loom to the coil .
