Tourance Next of Anakee 3

Het tans Tourance Next op maar oorweeg A3's.
2de Agterband en eerste voorband is besig om reg te maak vir pensioen. Tourance het my goed behandel maar indien ek beter myle kan kry waarom nie verander nie. Ek weet nie of ek 10k op 'n agterband gaan kry nie, sal nog moet sien.

90% van die tyd met pillion, en weer daarvan 70% vol gelaai.
Ry soms grondpad indien dit deel van die roete is, maar probeer vermy sand en beslis nie modder nie.
Gemiddelde Spoed: 10-15% vinniger as die verkeer. Indien die pad oop is dan gaan dit bietjie vinniger. Kort en lank is ek hou nie daarvan om tussen 'n klomp karre te wees nie, so ek ry dat ek voor kom.
Ek is nie 'n Pegskraper in die draaie nie.

Op ander forums word dit genoem dat die A3's saam sing op die pad. (Soos Karoo3) As daar gesing word dan sing ek self.
Dit blyk te wees dat al die GS'e nou uitkom met A3's. Dalk het Mitchelin 'n goedkoper kontrak as Metzeler ek weet nie.

Indien daar iemand is wat kennis van beide het sal ek sy of haar insette waardeer.

I have now done 8400km on my Anakee 3's that came with my 2014 LCA, no issues, I even went up Sani Pass with them(not advisable). They still have some life left, but due to the current shortage of tyres, I grabbed a set of Tourance next from Bavaria when they came in yesterday....will see how these compare to the Anakees, but in general I was very satisfied with them.

I had A3 on my LC when it came out. Was a fine tyre.
Then replaced it with Conti Trail Attack 2, and it is also a fine tyre. I can't really notice any difference between the two. They are equally good to me.

From a price perspective, I do think A3 is a little bit cheaper though...

Anakee 3 = 4000 km Conti Attack 2 = 7500km. I want to try a 180/55/17 road tyre the guys on the american forums say there work fine as Im am not doing any off road riding for a while, and want to see how they handle and I think they are quite a bit cheaper.....

Wow 1190, must be different riding style, I do not regard myself an expert rider by a long shot, but I do like to twist that throttle, and I ride 90% on road, how did you only manage 4000 km on the Anakee 3's?

When i bought my f800 the rear A3 had about 300k on it. It has to date done about 11000km. I have ridden everything from rock, gravel and even sand. There are better tyre out there for my kind of riding but the A3 have served me well. For tar riding they are excellent (My opinion due to a lack of comparison), on gravel they slide a bit easier but i am not complaining.
IMO fit them you won't be dissipointed

Sommer ek, Bavaria threw me a curve ball yesterday, they had a "slight snafu" with the tyre order, they did not have a Tourance front tyre for me...soooo, they now offered me a brand new set of Continental Trail Attack 2's....the reviews look good, but now I have to ask the guys here again for a comparison?

I had the TAs on my GSA 2010.  Really awesome road tyre but a bit iffy on dirt. Mileage was good ... about 18k on a rear.  Having said that, I liked the TKC80s on the 2010 GSA but I really don't like them much on the LC.

We do a ride from Port St Johns to Kei Mouth every year and the roads were very bad, lots of sharp rocks and we must have had about 10 punctures in the the the group, I think that's what destroyed the Anakee 3, I also had a stone lodged in the anakee, that I had to use 2 plugs to seal

My LC came out with them on, and they came out on my 1190, best tyre you can get if your ride more tar than gravel, but they are quite expensive and as they wear down you tend to get punctures on the gravel. I still have my original one on the front and have done 13000km.

Quick feedback on Conti Trail Attack 2s, did some riding this weekend, on tar,the tyre feels like it corners better than Anakee 3's, but I am really no expert, I just felt easier to maintain the bike around corners. Did a bit of gravel, and the tyre felt more slippery than Anakee's, but will have to give it more riding time to confirm this.

Anakee and trail attack both felt equally bad to me on gravel. On tar trail attack is definitely better as far as I am concerned.

When I really want to do more gravel I know for a fact that I must replace my trail attacks before I attempt this again.

IMHO not one of these tyres inspire confidence on gravel. TKC 80 or maybe Karoo 3 is the only option, or the new Pirelli Scorpion Rally range

The issue with trying new tyres, is that you've just come off a set of worn ones, so the
new ones generally feel like they a huge improvement. I was very weary when I had to
change from Anakee2's to 3's, but what a great tyre the 3 has turned out to be.
