For a road orientated bike it is a pretty good allrounder. Did the 2013 Nat Bash through the Transkei on mine and it was fine. No problems negotiating some snotty gravel mountain passes at all. Engine is pretty good for for dual sport with lots of low down torque. Limiting factors are ground clearance and suspension. Managed to bottom the suspension out on at least 2 occasions at speed which resulted in small smileys in the cast aluminium wheels.

Customer of mine did 4,000kmaround Namibia on one, including 40km up a dry riverbed to view some elephants!

He made some little spacers - I have a pic somewhere - which gave extra clearance for the more-offroad-biased tires, bike performed flawlessly, and he got GREAT gas mileage to boot!

We are selling the country's first BASHPLATE, designed especially for us, that fits both the NC 700 as well as 750, proper aluminium BASHPLATE, will post pics from work, but it will really protect the bike.

Cheers
Chris & Team
(we also do wide foot pegs, tall screen, etc)

A friend and I did some exploring on a very wet and slippery dirt road, he was on his NC with slicks, and I was on the DR. The NC did very well!

As an allround bike it's freaking great. Love mine - 24K km in 18 months and when I go really offroad I take my XR. The XR is for more hardcore offroad. The NC is fantastic everywhere else.

And for about R100 you can fabricate yourself some good quality long lasting fork boots. Thread here:
