DR650 Clutch Cable
« on: September 03, 2015, 02:32:33 pm »
Does anyone know where in Joburg to get a good, after-market clutch cable for a DR650? Mine is about to give up the ghost.

Thanks

Have one made up at Cableman for R127.

Take your current one as a sample

Cool, I'll try that. Much cheaper than the agents  :thumleft:

Sorted. Got one made up at Exact Cables (the old Cableman) in Kempton Park for R140. Happiness  :thumleft:

Slight resurrection here, need to replace the choke cable on my DR, any idea where I can do that in Durban?
So much to do, so little time. Better get going then!

So you bought a DR. Well done. Good bikes. Try phoning Umpleby suzuki. 031-3038323. They should be able to help. Just be careful with the plastic nut on the carb
when you remove it. They get a bit tight and brittle and can easily break.

Yes I did!  :ricky:

The only thing wrong with the bike seems to be that the choke cable is stuck so hoping to sort that out quickly. Thank you for the heads up!

Just an update.

Took the tank and seat off, removed the clutch cable and took it to a local company - KZN Control cables - and got them to make a new cable from my sample. R200 and took about 30 min while I waited. Works 100% and looks identical.

For comparison Suzuki Umpleby were going to order the cable from Jozi @ R750

This good to know. A big saving on one cable. :thumleft: Are these guys up in Pinetown?
