I've been meaning to post some thoughts on Guzzis for a little while. I know that Guzzi 'V's are not generally highly rated among WD's, some comments being positively derisory.

But I've always been an admirer, and recently a friend of mine has acquired a 1200cc tourer, I'm not sure about the model name. Now touring bikes generally are not really my cuppa tea, but the Guzzi, I must say is 'different'. As fully equipped as any touring bike, and yet it looks and feels quite small and compact, and although I don't know any specs I get the impression of a fairly short wheelbase.

Having prodded, examined and crawled all over it, everything except ride it unfortunately, I have ridden with it lots of times and I know it's not short of go and it's a match for anything on the twisties. In fact the owner describes it as a superbike disguised as a tourer.

I'm impressed.

Kry die geskiedenis van Moto Guzzi se DS bikes hier. Hulle maak al jare baie interessante off road fietse maar het geen clue hoe om dit te bemark nie! Ook nie handelaars buite Italië wat belangstel nie. Dit is so pateties. Dalk is die V85 die deurbraak.

When you sit on your GS, put your arms down either side, grab the cylinder heads and pull very hard.

I have grown up around Guzzi's, never popular bikes, but they seem to rally really serious admirers.

Although there was a time when I quite liked the Le Mans bikes.

I am a big Guzzi fanboy. Cayenne motorcycles Kaylami is the Guzzi importers.
When I bought my NC a few years back they had the Stelvio on the floor on special for R160K and the same day I got my bike they sold one to a toppie that traded his 1200 Explorer. Stunning sound even with OEM exhaust.
