1200 LC (2017) misfires at startup
« on: November 19, 2018, 12:27:07 pm »
Hello Everybody,
I need some help please...
I ride a 2017 with 6700km's on the clock,
I stay in the Kalahari and on days when the temp exceeds 35 degrees celcius, the bike misfires on startup.  Early mornings when it is cooler, no problems.
The misfire is not like one piston is not firing, it idles rough and you can smell unburnt fuel.  This only last for about 20 seconds and then the bike idles normally.
Took it to the agents and no fault codes where found...
Any thoughts on what the problem can be or should I just pack it in ice to keep it cool... 8)
Cheers

It started when I had to fill up with 93 octane in Swellendam, had to fill up again with 93 in kuruman as there were no 95 available.  The last 2000 odd km's I have managed to fill up with 95 at different petrol stations to try and eliminate the possibility of bad fuel.
Over the weekend I added injector cleaner to clean the system and yesterday when the temp was 38 degrees it started normal...
So maybe, just maybe it is sorted...
I will update next week.
Stay on two wheels!
