WP OUTRIDERS- Alternative special...
« on: October 12, 2008, 06:28:31 pm »
The long juicy grass stood tall and fat. The sun shone gently and sparkled upon the morning dew. Butterflys flapped their gossamer wings and lighted on the fresh blooming flowers anticipating their morning food. Birds eagerly competed for pollen & darted overhead catching their small prey untill......33 Wilddogs came BLASTING through!
 :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

XT660R, Wayne & Paremed...a big thank you from all of us :wav: The route was full of little surprises which ultimately resulted in a few incidents :)
Durtseeker aka threetreeseeker aka the hedge....gave his spanking matt black 990 KTM a christening of note...& managed to keep a smile up while nursing a very swollen hand....feedback there bro! :deal:
The_Wes had KTM on call to sort out his flat which ultimately resulted in him leaving his sweeping job early :patch: ;D
The Honda 500 when not steaming  would not start...pics pls guys?
Otherwise it was just a few offs, a couple bruises, scrapes & bumps (one being on my knee!)
It was an awesome ride with great comraderie & the everpresent willingness to help each other......suddenly i feel VERY tired ::)

thanks Andy and Pete and everyone.  :thumleft:

That's right, I got a flat. The way I found out was the bike suddenly became uncontrollable and flung me violently to the ground - here I sit at home nursing a swollen pinky finger and a moerofa sore back (point of impact was my lower back, off to the side, sort of hips / kidney area. eina)

Thanks to camelman and wayneh for the help with the flat, as well as steveo for holding the bike, sprocketbek for the tube, (can't remember your name) for the pump, and mountainboy for just standing around and looking pretty. o and thanks to Lito and Mark for the running commentary

Then after we change the tube, eish, the tire, something is not right, so I run flat again. Thanks to generous donation of airbombs from Go Girl, Mark and (again, the name) 1150GS rider, I headed home, stopping often to inflate. Bought some tire weld in Malmesbury as well, but that only held so far.

Thanks again to everyone, I owe you all bigtime  :thumleft:

Super bummed that I missed the rest of the ride though, can't tell you guys how disappointed I am  :xxbah: and of course, injuries ain't lekker either. but hey, that's life i suppose!

until next time  :ricky:

Thanks to all that came on the ride , it was great meeting new WD.

Sorry you hurt your hand Durtseeker , and for the record , Durtseeker took a tree out the ground when he dropped his 990 and managed to walk away with what looked like a broken bone in his left hand.

Too many thrills and spills  to mension.

I only got home at 17h45 , so the pics will follow tomorrow.

Thanks Paramed for the back up vehicle.
We didnt realise that you were actually going to follow us down the track , through all the water crossings and up the mountain.
And Mr.Big , get a happy button or bring the Tiger next time. You must have been exhausted trying to kick that bike all the time man !

Hey Wes, I believe the run-flat tyres are only coming out with the '09 spec BMW's.  >:D >:D >:D

Awesome ride, thanks to all who organized (XT660R, Wayneh,  etc.....Paramed for backup, that is so reassuring). I had a lovely ride. Some afkak. And lots of laughs...... good spirit.

Just some initial pics:
1) The first significant watercrossing. I'm not sure I want to put names to some of the pictures I took.
2) Wes. Need we say more? Fixed a flat whilst hardly getting his hands dirty.
3) TEAMWORK: Wes in the supervisory role, Camelman and Wayneh doing the work, Mountainboy swatting insects and being cheerleader. The rest looking on so they can criticize later.

Andy, Wayneh thanks for a super day of riding. The track up Piketberg Mountain was the best, just technical enough to keep you on your toes but not hard enough to scare you.

Thanks to everyone for the great sprite that was shown during the day, made the day a total success. MrBig, she needs a service or a happy button. Hows your leg today.
Parramed I wonder if we will ever see you on a bike again, looked like you had as much fun as we did. Thanks for the back up and assistance offer when required.  :thumleft:

No it's time to wash wash the bike for the next one.

Once again thanks to all for a great day.  :thumleft:
