So, taking a girl out on the bike on Saturday, we've only met up in social environments , this will be our 1st solo outing and there's a bit of sexual tension, she hasn't been on a bike in 14 years so she's nervous, where can I take her that's not too hectic but that will get the juices flowing? Leaving from Blouberg and think 1.5 hours each way including stops would be suitable, around Chapmans and then Cape Point and back? The offroad circle around Darling is cool but may be scary?

Back roads to Riebeeck Kasteel, with lunch or tea and scones! All tar. Hout Bay and Cape point has too many stops, traffic etc for her to get comfortable.

Riebeek kasteel is very nice and not far from Vaalbaas in Gouda. Then over that little pass that takes you to Wolsley and then home over Bainskloof.

It depends on what bike you will be riding...

Take it from me, if you are introducing a novice lady to biking:
Rule no 1 - Don't let her fall off the back. (No wheelies, hard acceleration etc.)
Rule no 2 - Don't even let her get the feeling she could fall off the back (Riding respectfully and not like you ride alone...!)
Rule no 3 - Make her feel like she should do it again (Positive attitude reinforcement and telling how much you enjoy having her on the back.)

It is your only chance to create a good first impression.
Don't blow it !

I'd do exactly that ride. it's also about the romance of riding - the sights and the smells etc.

Yeh, I'd say it doesn't matter much.  Something with some nice scenery but fairly tame road would be the best.  I think when we ride often we forget how nice it is just to simply be on a bike, taking it all in, without needing to ride like a hooligan or conquer some road.

I'd add:
- Being new to riding again, remember she might get really tired/sore/uncomfortable much quicker than you do, so lots of stops and check in how she's doing.
- Don't ride like a chop haha.   I little squirt when she knows it's gonna happen is probably cool but surprising her probably wont go well.

But on a serious note and from a girl's perspective... don't do the usual touristy peninsula ride. Chances are she has probably done it and it's nothing new.

I second the Riebeek Kasteel route. It is a pretty route and the country atmosphere makes it a bit more romantic.
