make my headers Great again
« on: April 23, 2019, 10:46:42 am »
When i bought my 2015 Lc a few months ago  the header pipes where abit rusty ( the bike was not looked after), i tried to clean them with the good old coke and a sponge trick wich gave reasonable results however they have gone back to a brown rusty color. My Baby sleeps inside and is cleaned regulary. Any ideas on how to restore the pipes so it they shine?

Take them off and have them ceramic coated. If done correctly they stay new forever. :deal:
Have had mine done two years ago and still looks new and I was not 100% happy with the work done.

Clean with Harpic pro.  Use gloves and face mask (or just be careful) and them run them on the buff of your drill or bench grinder with a nice buffing compound like autosol. (forget the spelling)

Then after 2 weeks of riding, repeat the above.  And after 2 more weeks repeat again.  And then after 2 more ...

As Chris says, the only way to keep them looking good is to have them ceramic coated.

Agree with Chris. Mine after they were done at PowerKote Cape Town. I am going to have my 1250's done now as well.
