Cheap Round
« on: August 28, 2006, 09:44:20 am »
The wife again let me loose while she went shopping so I scooted off for a jol. I went to Kraaifontein and eventually found the Sandringham road, the surface of which was quite nice and dry, albeit dusty.

And almost saw my derrier in this sand.
A memorable little two hour jol.

Is verry short short. I went through Kraaifontein suburb on the northern side of the N1 to the South Side through a little tunnel (a walkway actually) from wher I went to the Kraiifontein Industrial area opposit the Joostenburgvlakte. From there the beginning of the Sandringham road to it's end is about 5km. Then there is a tarred section with a turnoff to the left which is dirt and you go over the N1 to the Eenzaamheid pad then back over the N1 ending in Klapmuts.
The little road behind the filling station is all of about 1km - not much but very enjoyable - even on a bicycle. 8)  :D

Thanks Drof, Seems like a nice option when you have limited time for a ride.
When in doubt...grab throttle!!!
