Wat is jul mening oor rallies ?

Ek bly weg. Ek was presies 2 minute by die rally op Rustenburg- ek dink dit was die Poison Rally - toe maak ek spore.

Later die middag toe vertel 2 ouens van Klerksdorp my, dat daar 4 mense dood is. 2 Bikers en 2 toeskouers, 'n ma en haar klein seuntjie, deur 'n ou wat in hulle vas gewheelie het.

Ek word altyd saam genooi deur die locals hier by ons, maar ek het maar altyd 'n verskoning.

Ek gaan eerder na ons bashes en ride-outs toe, die klomp suip maar woes, maar gedra hulle darm soos mense.

Gaan julle op die rallies ?

Vir baie lank ook altyd 'n verskoning gehad
Twee jaar gelede toe Buff toe, maar op Hartenbos akkomodasie gekry
So ons was nou een keer by 'n rally
Vir my is dit 'n kwessie van "been there, done that, got the t-shirt"
Not my cup of tea, dankie

There is not much difference between the WD bashes and rallies. Dint shoot the one but praise the other. Shoot both or praise both. The day the bashes hit big numbers like with rallies we talk again.

Been to 50+ rallies and I like it, when I am in the mood for it. I just won't go to any Bark SA rallies. Each rally got its own "character" Like the quietness of the Stilbay rally, the strippers of the Cobra rally, the baked beans feeling at the Titty twisters, the beespoespie rally etc etc etc. I prefer the smaller ones.

Yes I agree, sometimes okes "haak uit" en jaag lekker k@k aan. But its your choice to attend and partake or not. My favorite pastime at rallies is to, drink and praat k@k with mates, oogle the bikes and girls, and sit somewhere out of harms way and check the shenanigans out.

Rallies are NOT for children and I dislike to see kids attending with their parents. Its not for everybody, its for grownups that want to go wild for a weekend and throw their names away.

Only ONE rally I go to and that is the BABOON RALLY in Queenstown there gravel outride on the Saturday is awesome.

there are more Dual Sport bikes at this rally than roadbikes.
The organizers do a fantastic job

Been to this rally 5 years in a row.

There's a distinct difference between your usual roadie rally & a WD Rallye....

I can only speak for the WC Bash....anyone that has been to the events knows that the whole idea is to ride your bike on a suggested route on the Saturday. If it get bigger than 100+ bikes i still don't see a problem. Over a few years a culture has already been established of discipline and respect for fellow riders & campers. Besides....most of the guys are to tired for hell raising after a day in the saddle!

I like a burnout in a bar & on the dirt to....

A WD bash is nothing like a roadie rally....because we all know each other on one level or another. There's no strangers.

I love machinery and I will walk around a rally site to check out especially the well done customizations and special bikes but it really hurts when an a-hole revs his bike to the limiter or burns rubber on the tarmac. luckily most Jap bikes seem to be able to take this abuse unaffected but still it hurts. Have not been to a rally for 4 years now.

Been to one about 5 years ago and will never go again. Not my scene but hey what ever floats your boat horses for courses. I generally dont do "big" rally type gatherings period!

Once rode an MX race at Tarlton when one of the bike rallys was being held at the drag strip across the way, way back in the 80's.

Some of the participants of the rally came across in a group to watch the racing.

They were all drunk as hell and seemed intent on causing as much trouble as possible, especially with the guys girl friends. Unfortunately the MX guys are all fit and tend to be wearing boots and pads etc.

I saw two guys being taken away in ambulances.

Just not my scene at all!

I agree with Kurt on this. We were all in bed at 20H00 to get a good nights sleep... the camp was quiet all night and everyone (except Stoetie - he flew up and had no bike ) went for an early morning ride.
