My KTM 690 came with TKC`s from new,the rear is now pretty done at 3600 kms. What are the guys using on the back and what kilos you getting? I always used the Dunlop Rally Raid on the SE and loved it but its far too hard for the smaller bikes!

You can't beat the Michelin Desert rear, much better than the TKC

I bought mine from Renz. The set, front and rear were R1,200.00.

Yup that works good !! I have a personal thing about mixing brands off tyres on a bike !!! Nothing wrong but I don't do it !! I use the Michelin Desert Front and Rear.Rear I run a 140/80/18,the front is very very good on gravel but not to lekker on Tar....I use it but a rider doing 50/50 DS riding will probably be better off with a Michelin T63 or the dunlop D606 or TKC ,But a rear TKC is crap offroad compeared to a Desert on a 690 !! The Conti's wil give you more KM'S though !!!

I got like 1,500 km out of my TKC rear and hated every moment of it.

Both my 990 riding buddies swear by the Mitas E-07. I am using the E-09 (more off-road)

I have always been a big fan of the T63 but I have just put on my 1st desert today.. will see how she rides tomorrow.. R800 from Renz on the forum.

Wow thats a good price ! Ktm in bloem charges me R 1100 JUST FOR THE BACK !
