I'm kindly calling on the great forum wisdom with my technical problem...
My GS (2007) has now picked up this intermittend problem where if she has stood in the garage for a while, and I then turn the ignition key to on, the instrument panel doesn't light up, and she will not start. The panel stays 'dark', but the kilometer reading comes up - and Only that. No 'abs' light, nothing else. If I then turn the ignition key off - 2sec - on again, maybe three or four times the panel will light up, I can hear the ABS pump, and she starts [and runs] normally, no issues after that...
The battery (genuine BMW unit) is about 3years old, and measures in at 12.7V. It gets charged fairly regularly (if she stands for long periods, sometimes up to three weeks), so I don't think it is the batt...
Any ideas before I have to cart her off to BMW to be hooked up to the 'computer', and "they" demand their pound of flesh... ???
