Help with the design of the offical WD sticker
« on: September 12, 2007, 11:53:12 am »
People, plse be so kind as to help us design the official WD sticker.  This is not a democratic decision however, so we shall not be voting for any particular design - we shall use the input to come up with a design.

Design criteria:

1. Any shape - not to big not too small
2. Must piggy-back on the logo - we need to identify the one with the other
3. No specific bike on the sticker
4. Trick is to link the logo with d/s riding
5. Need the web address and 'Wild Dog Adventure Riding' on it
6. Keep it simple
7. Piggy back on the colours in the logo - top left

TIPS: Good previous suggestions were the triangular gravel-road ahead road sign and d/s knobby tracks - trick is to link it to the logo in a simple manner.

Plse feel free to post your designs for discussion in this thread.  As said before we shall not necessarily choose one design, but may use elements of different designs.

I shall sponsor a prize for the best design!!

Cheers
Hein

As soon as we're happy - hopefully having a batch ready before the WD bash in Nov - if sooner the better

You obviously have to add www.wildfrog.com somewhere.

How about that one:

Does that mean the paw with wild dog in the middle + Wild dog adventure riding must be included with this sticker - ie. something in addition to what you already have?

No prob.

We're currently playing around with ideas, but since we did some thinking allready and been around the block with the previous sticker - we decided to give some design tips and direction.

The logo can be used as is in the sticker, or elements of it can be used - what is important is that a clear link must exist between the 2 - also with d/s riding (which is not clear in the logo).

What about the 'dog footprint inside the red and white triangle a' la Uiltjie's avatar, and gravel road sign.

I like The_Wes' idea. But then we must keep the sticker round too. No use having a square sticker with something round inside. Capiche?

Round stickers fit in easier in any limited space (cos they're round, stupid!). Squares look funny in trapesoidal or assimetrical shapes (like tanks/radiator shrouds/ helmets).

Is it possible to tilt the wheel for a bit of a 3d effect in order to show a knobby shadow pattern from the top too?

Square stickers also come off easier -- have sharp courners that are more prone to peeling off or get snagged by an object rubbing over it.
