Evert read all the responses and I must admit he is still a bit confused. All the attributes off the different bikes he accept, but what is most important for him and to the rest of us is: "APLLICATION" I know who I am and I ride the bike that is an extention of my personality

I think and I have told him so, KLR because of long distance ability, and if he can afford it, 660Z. I think to start of with a bike that is nice to ride a 100km a day contributes to be a happy biker, and it has good off the tar manners. If you get to a point that you want to go either into more tar or more off tar and even off the gravel roads, you can do so, but to start with either a KLR or a Tennere, you are going to be a happy biker for life.
If it so happens that you never became a serious biker, either one of those two bikes, you can keep for ever
