40km one way gives you 80 plus the farm visits add up to 100km+ per day. For that you need a little bit of comfort as well. The Suz is excellent but no wind protection and a very hard seat....I would rather opt for the XT66R if money is not a problem, otherwise the KLR. The new KLR's have no issues - doo sorted, bad machining of barrel sorted so no oil burning and worries

the seat is not much better, in fact i prefer the seating on the DR to the KLR.
what about the KLR's subframe???
it's pathetic suspension in comparison to the DR (both stock are, hmmm, well, not good)

every nut and bolt on the DR is of better quality,
just about everything is a better design.
having owned a KLR for 75000km and a DR for 47000km,
i feel qualified to say: the KLR is the more spoken about,
and the DR is the better (out the box)...
