Glad you're OK, FC. I hate mud - means you have to clean the bike afterwards! Hope you heal soon.

Well not quite right.

Sounds as though she lost her AC ligament(s) [acromioclavicular ligament(s)]

Ligaments do not heal, as in, 'grow back'. But the shoulder comes right fairly quickly, though you'll need some rehab if not going in for corrective surgery.

Haven't had my left AC ligaments since 2006, and my shoulder is doing well. MY doc (Orthopedic surgeon) had me take the sling off the next morning already, told me the shoulder must be as mobile as possible, as there is no harm, ligaments are gone. This happened on a Thursday, I was riding my bike again by the following Monday.

I've got a slightly funny looking shoulder now though, and I will always have the option to surgically repair, but my doc said I should wait until I have grown tired of all the rough and tumble shit (rugby, biking etc.). Guess I'll just live with it.

Good luck FC. Recover quick  :thumleft:

Speedy recovery Firecoast! Hope to see you back in the saddle soon! Sprocketbek, I am sure somewhere in the Wilddog rules of engagement you'll find you were supposed to take the photo's first, then only make sure the rider is OK! :thumleft:

Bad news!

Get some good professional medical attention.  Ligaments can be a real bugger!
