Yeah welcome, I know we had some totally irrelevant issues at the outset, but I will forgive you and let you buy me beer!
Wow our ride reports are so good that you guys are abandoning the Cape and coming to play up here!

Must say my first reaction was "not another red KLR".

LITO,s gonna get lonely at this rate, I think I will have an official be nice to LITO day?

Jeeeeeez really sorry to hear about your misfortune :(

Moving to JHB, there is nothing in life sadder than that. Well maybe being eaten alive by sharks or lions or something

Andy welcome to GP (well almost). Great bunch of guys to ride with, look past PTA and JHB and there are great places to ride like Mpumalanga, Eastern Freestate etc. At least you will always be able to go and visit the Cape, well that is what I keep telling myself

Day trips are also cool, dd, we need to finish that loop around where the river stopped us. Should do it one weekend after your Sabie trip.
Andy, join us.

gauteng is cool for one reason - it is central!
we have bushveld to the north and east, desert to the west, mountains to the south and east, and forests to the east.
the nearest sea is warm.
we have GOOD WEATHER
no south easter to blow you off your bike, no months of rain at a time.
we have lots of roads in all directions. and lots and lots of dirt roads(the cape is cut off by mountains and desert on the one side, and sea on the other).
when we go shopping for bike parts or accesories, we have choice, not just one or two shops to choose from.

but most importantly, we are within a days' drive from:
botswana
zimbabwe
mozambique
lesotho
swaziland
namibia

joburg is the 1st or 2nd largest man made forest.
and the crime is no worse than anywhere else in sa, just use your common sense

I hear someone was robbed while riding his bike around Samrand the other day. Held a gun to his head.

Going to start carrying 24/7 again.
