I enjoyed it very much , Wayne. Thanks for sharing your trip !  I'm busy planning a trip there again soon. Lovely country to ride through.   ;D
An' here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known,
Like a "drifter" I was born to "ride" alone
An' I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time = Whitesnake

Great trip, great pictures! Thank you for sharing. A Zim-tour is still one of my to-do trips... maybe just wait till uncle Bob is gone...  :thumleft:

Thanks for the replies guys, and girl! It is a beautiful place to travel through, but don't wait, the rural areas where the gravel riding is best are just as they always were...no govt can influence this! Just a pity the owners of the accommodation establishments seem to be trying to get back 15 years of lost revenue in 2 years...prices are a little steep for what you get.

Anyone that would want me to lead them / a group, we can talk!  :)

Excellent RR am very keen to go back home on the Bike, might be stuffed due to Bob, but as you say the locals are really friendly, & make you feel welcome. Coming from the Eastern Highlands Mutare, brings back great memories, and is definately on my list. want to go Beit Bridge, Eastern Highlands, Kariba, Vic Falls, Plumtree . would love to get your route in my hands.

Nice report report Wayne. Brings back so many memories, especially those of the Honde Valley where I spent a lot of time in the seventies wandering around that area wearing funny camo clothes courtesy of the government. Would really like to explore again in peace time.

Nice trip report. I thaught there must be a trick not having to pay for the ferry trip. At the end after all you had to pay to use the water. HAHA

Hello Moggie, yes the state always needs to get their share, I just hope that the money gets used for what it was intended!
The ferry trip (US$105 for the bike and US$120 per person, all meals inclusive) is more like a cruise, one where your vehicle can come along. It's a great, relaxing way to break ones journey but still be travelling, if you know what I mean.
