Jeeez what Prophets of DOOM we have on this Forum  :o Any gap to run Down the Huskies --FAT chance of catching us running --try and get a motorbike   ::) Every time i hear someone from another brand try and run the huskies down i wonder wtf is goin on in those two cell brains of theirs ?????

Face facts guy's the brand is been going for over a hundred years --BMW bought them the same KTM bought Husaberg the other half of the engineers that left when Husky was sold to the italians - these are great bike and have stood the test of time --

Hardly ever see Husky guys running down other brands --if these guys would try this on a overseas forum they would get roped imho --

I have had nearly every bike that is out there to ride and owned many of them --WHY do i ride Husky --because they have SOUL and each one has a beauty of its own -- great value for money and now that they are back in the country it just gives us a better chance to get the newer models in and enjoy them as well as maybe get a new convert or two who wants something different --- Why dont they just PISS off and stop trying to move the focus of there poor purchases by trying to make Huskies look bad  :peepwall:

KAK -- BUT THAT's MY OPINION AND I AM STAYING WITH IT -- :peepwall: AT LEAST THE 610 TE was in production for many years and most small issues were taken care of--even the Italians gave up on the 630 in only 2 plus years of production on it ---

Most people out there would not even know if a bargain jumped up and bit them in the arse -- i would jump at that 250 you have for sale --Meo won the world enduro championship on one similar to that all he had done was move the foot pegs back because he has BIG feet --and set up the suspension to his liking --as for the motors husky race -STOCK STANDARD -- no need for more power --

I have two issues with the current Husky's;

1) Their current generation of dirtbikes are long in the tooth and the BMW based 450/511 needs lots of work to catch up with the rest. This is understandable seeing as Husky had to develop a competitive 450 based on the not-so-successful BMW 450 platform.
I suspect that they might have something at least a bit competitive in the MX scene in 3 years time. At the moment, in comparison to the KX450F for instance, it under steers, it's under sprung and under powered.. thats a lot to get right!

2)Their middle weight DS bikes are disappointing to say the least. Yes I'm comparing them to the 610 which was their best.

It's just that I get nostalgic/concerned when seeing what the 610 is being replaced with and what they are trying to accomplish in the MX scene with that BMW450.. while Husky had the perfect platform to continue their R&D on  ???
Look at Husaberg for instance; they were bought by KTM 12 years ago and by 2013 they are pretty much nonexistent. Totally absorbed by KTM as the 70deg motor will not be produced and we will simply be getting blue KTM's, marketed as 'Bergs.

It sounds like emotional drivel I know, but every time I ride my rare 550 'Berg, I'm being reminded of this unfortunate truth.

Good points - its so irritating watching them piss away all the potential without any obvious benefits to us potential customers  >:( especially a corporation like BMW who could take a specialist company like Husqvarna and REALLY make some great bikes for us all (if you combine the off road design ability of Husky with the financial resources and marketing and support of BMW it would be an unbeatable combination IMO)!

But instead we get re-badged X-Country's.

I just dont understand where they are going. ???

The only snippet of info that might explain what they are doing is the comment I saw in the one magazine that said BMW bought Husky just to use as a brand for a range of low cost road bikes built in India aimed at the Asian market.

If that is true it means that all of this stuff we are seeing is just a transition strategy moving from current to that future strategy ie they are just getting rid of "left-overs" and getting some revenue for them before shutting them all down.  I hope I'm wrong but thats what it looks like  ???

More like Brand Hoer! Cassanovas are at least discerning about what they 'ride' many these days are just fooled by the sugar coated shit that the media delivers to them and they buy into it and, yes, buy it! Never having had a good ride (like good sex) they will not know better  >:D Their loss.

Firstly it is an AlFa not an AlPHa ... (you not a ware Dutshman are you?  :pot:) ... and I can concur with your Pa on that one but in reality a Husky and an Alfa are quite similar in my experience in some ways, especially since they are beinmg made in Italy  8)  Owned a few Alfas as well and it is like having a beautiful lithe sexy girlfriend ... everyone oggles and is envious but is actually full of shyte ... you tolerate it for awhile while tight and fast until you see the light ... and the mileage growing ... and then ... 'will nie daai ding meer stoot'  :mwink:
