Gideon, it was hot and it's lots of sand to ride to get to the Kunene ;D >:D

A few pics on our way to the Kunene outdoor lodge ;)

These guy's ride sand and rocks with ease, and the bikes last. Cost them around 4 cows to buy a bike.

Crossing dry river beds great fun.

Angolan build KTM950, just showing how's it suppose to be riden. Much lighter on fuel than the 950's sold in the rest of the world. It's tough animals, water is not freely avaialble it's really bone dry there.

Scared?  Come lets race!

Now THAT'S an adventure ride!!   Africa is not for sissies china. :nono:

Can you please post a map of your route? Did you get info somewhere regarding old minefields, and was it ever a consideration on your trip? I have severe paranoia about bikes and mines!

Brilliant photos and report. :salut: :occasion14:

I'll post a map as soon as I get one. We did not get minefield maps. I was under the impression that there wasn't much action here in the far South Western corner. I was wrong.
It's not something that was going to stop us from going but neither were we going to be stupid about it. Mostly the idea was not to stray from existing used tracks. When we left Monte Negro we asked the police about mines and they confirmed that it had allready been removed.
