« on: July 26, 2012, 09:55:42 pm »
No nightmares yet but a very regular fear that the damn chain will snap at 160 km and come around and kill my beautifull Vtwin, or worse take my foot off  :patch:

Steep down hills. It terrifies me.

It happened a few times where I got so intimidated by the angle and the height of it that I grab the front brake and my brain refuses to release the lever.

But I think I'm learning to handle it better.  From freezing up, to silent tears to, to telling myself is is not that bad while I'm doing it.

But yes, that is my biggest fear that I must work on continously.

The other one is getting rammed by a taxi from behind due to brake failure
Never underestimate the power of kindness!

my worst fear is not being allowed to ride again after I got hit by a tipper truck 16 weeks ago, and basically therefore "caused" a shitload of trauma to my loved ones.

Water crossings. I don't like it when I can't see where my bike's wheels are going.

Hi Lem plnty strongs man how is your recovery going

Thanks JK. Going well. walking with one crutch now, and can walk short steps without them, looking like a penguin. should be able to start some physio soon. There was a delay in my femur growth, due to two fractures and DVT.

Not trying to sound hardcore but I have no biking fear/nightmare :3some

Going down on a highway and being run over by a cage and then leaving loved ones behind.

i also have visions of the chain snapping at high speed,
flicking around carving the side of the bike and my leg to bits.

Interresant hoeveel ouens worry oor chain.
Ek is nooit bekommerd oor kettings nie. Ek verpes watter crossings en modder paaie. Ek sal nie eers n water crossing oorweeg a.s dit enigsins naby my kniee kom nie. Te vrek bang my bike val in die water
As time washes by, our footprints are all for naught

Gearbox failure or something else that locks the rear wheel , had it once at about 100kmh and came down hard , dread to think what would happen at higher speeds .

Tyre blowouts at high speed would be number one on my list. After that, the loss of my bike if it were to get stolen :'(
