Having to casevac Pote on his next trip ...  :peepwall:  :pot:

Not making the bottle store on a Saturday afternoon.

But seriously, being hit from behind while riding or even just sitting at a traffic light or such. I spend almost more time looking in my mirrors than in front.

this is not a fear issue but more of a tar issue...I don't trust tar. Dirt/gravel roads are much more comfortable to ride. On tar I always feel like I am going to loose the front end or something.  :-\

Overtaking a line of cars over my usual mountain pass and another bike is filtering along the line at high speed (like most of them do ffs!) and we have a "I'm going this way/you going that way" moment and end up having a head on collision and then fly under some cars because we are in the middle of the road (white line)!

i also have visions of the chain snapping at high speed,
flicking around carving the side of the bike and my leg to bits.

Had a chain snap once.... the engine starts overrevving and power is lost. The chain simply falls off the sprocket and donners down in the road. (actually never put the clip onto the master-link). No injury whatsoever :ricky:

I am very scared On jeeptracks and lekker sandpaaie that you haven't traveled before cause of people putting up draadhekke en fences to keep cattle on one side or keep out taxis traveling through their farms.

Happened two times to me in 2 years. The last one I went at 120+- on a 2 spoor pad that I use every week.Stupid farmer put up a temporary fence right over the road ! I woke up in hospital ... :-\ Luckely a nother farmer saw it happen, moered me in his bakkie and straight to hospital.Broke my right arm,shoulder,2 ribs and fractured pelvis. I never ride in front on dirt roads from that day on ...never !

my worst fear is not being allowed to ride again after I got hit by a tipper truck 16 weeks ago, and basically therefore "caused" a shitload of trauma to my loved ones.
Hi Lem plnty strongs man how is your recovery going

Thanks JK. Going well. walking with one crutch now, and can walk short steps without them, looking like a penguin. should be able to start some physio soon. There was a delay in my femur growth, due to two fractures and DVT.
Thats good news   :thumleft:

My biggest fear happened to me once. Cornering 250 flat out on a berm and having a head on collision with another bike riding the same berm from the opposite direction. Bushes prevented us from seeing each other. Parklands about 10 years ago. Casa vac stuff, medical helicopters and all. Not nice. Broken back, knees etc.

No nightmares yet but a very regular fear that the damn chain will snap at 160 km and come around and kill my beautifull Vtwin, or worse take my foot off  :patch:

There is a solution for this... Buy a Super Tenere... Shaft driven  :ricky:  ;D
Present bikes: BETA 300RR, KTM 690, Yamaha WR250F

If you're dumb you gotta be tough !!!
