PitBike Oil leak
« on: August 08, 2012, 09:22:49 am »
Did not realised the 690R came out standard with a built in Scotoiler.  ;D These KTM's are wonderfull machines. The oiler works nice, only one drawback, very very difficult to adjust the oil flow.

Been battling to find the problem of where the leak is on the PitBike the past few months. Oil end up on the chain from where it is thrown all over the show. My jacket, luggage, engine, rear rim, the road, the cages behind me, name it. Checked all over, suspect a leaking casing gasket but the most obvious place - output shaft oil seal remains dry, absolutely no oil deposits on it.
Then I found it, a piss wily flippen o-ring inside the gearbox on the output shaft. Maybe the attached .pdf file picture can give an idea where this
o-ring is located.
