Guys,
Forget the "Carne de passage"
Most border posts in Africa have never heard of this document. We took some 5 proto-type vehicles into Lesotho for altitude testings and fuel vapour leakage tests. That is taking a vehicle from 850m to 3500m in a short time frame, wanting to see how fuel expands, where vapours exit fuel tanks and how fuel tanks expand and contract. We had the "Carne de passage" and the border official looked at it and shook his head, said we must pay up as those are not valid in Lesotho. We showed him the country list but he would not budge.
It is cheaper just to fill in and pay at the border. Not only that but if they take the "Carne de passage" off of you, you loose all that money held in trust.
Zonkelnut, it is nice to know that our neighbours are still friendly and looking to take our strong Rands.
