610TE Carbon fibre parts--Prices added
« on: August 13, 2012, 05:14:39 pm »
Busy doing the cam chain on my 610TE she now has 30,000km on and i also have to replace the small carrier bearing behind the flywheel as she has gone  :(

So all my covers are off and i have decided to make some covers for both sides with carbon as well as exhaust covers and some other goodies -- If anyone is interested let me know as i am also making for my 610Te that is still in the crate. This is a once off--

Would be interested - depending on price.

Me too  :3some: Let me know cost.
You talking side covers? Smaller exhaust cover(s) would be good instead of that fooking Italian trumpet !  :imaposer:

What would also be great would be a decent replacement airbox - even just the front cover, blank so one can make the air intakes high up? How does your 643 SMR airbox compare - would it fit the 610?

Will let you know costing  ;) Only going to make 4 pairs of -covers for the 610 TE as i will be putting the covers back on soon and no longer have a mould for it- Not worth making a mould for 4 sets. Two of the sets i will use for my 610Te's
Exhaust ones will be on order as i have the original --Italian Trumpet as a mould hehe.

Will be making air box covers as well as front fork protector ones and a full on strengthened carbon bash plate --

Will post pics next week of the finished product ---

Michael if you are going to make airbox covers, how about making something that blocks up the low intake holes and uses one of these water proof membrane things instead?

http://wwm.ehsracing.com/store/ProductDesc.aspx?code=2206&type=3&eq=&desc=Universal-Kit-Single-Plate-8.75X3.5

That would help a lot with river crossings.

Yeah that is why I suggested blank ones ... let us decide what intakes and where to position them.  :thumleft:

Hi Michael

Try taking a photo of the bike and fiddling with photoshop to see what your alternative design would look like.

Thats what i would try.

Will have a look a bit later - off the top of my head I think you may find that the silver fork part is not so disturbing in silver as it blends into the pipes but now in carbon look strange. Maybe one solution would be to round it off and if anyone wants it forked up they can shape and polish it themselves? Would this work?

That's what i was thinking Dom -- i for one have rounded my two sets off as it will look strange and it is only a heat shield and of course looks f@@rking awesome --- ::)
