DR650 - Side plastic replacement
« on: August 23, 2012, 09:24:08 am »
Hey guys,

I'm trying to track down a replacement Left Side plastic for my DR650SE. The non-exhaust side. I managed to not tighten the screw enough a while back and it fell off on the N1 somewhere.

I contacted Suzuki South for a new price, but it's like R700 ex vat which is insane. Does anyone have a spare somewhere or know where I can try to find one second hand? Preferably in white but I'll take anything.

I'm gonna give Craig's a ring, but there has to be other places or junk yards that do that kinda thing.

I might have a shabby badly scratched one. White with 2000 model blue stickers. I'll have a look.

Hey LeCap,

I dropped oyu a PM but haven't heard anything. Do you have this side plastic still?
I'd love to take it off your hands, even if it looks bad. I don't like having a lob-sided bike. haha.

Lemme know please. Thanks.

alternatively check if UFO or another brand don't sell non-OEM DR plastics - will be a damn sight cheaper...

scratch that, doesn't seem like they do the DR

Not lucky: I have one but the wrong (exhaust) side.

Bummer, thanks for looking though.

I'll have to give Perry's call or take a look at scrap yards. :P Are there even motorcycles at scrapyards?
I remember my buddies old XR3 Escort we could get anything just by riding around Stikland for a bit. hehe
