Some of my pics!
« on: October 01, 2007, 06:30:28 pm »
I fell down doing the sand pit, then I 'parked' my bike neatly at Alkmaar Farm in Nelspruit, went to Golden Gate with some friends, did the 'mampoer' thing in Groot Marico and tagged along to KZN !!!

Very Nice!
Be careful of the words you say.
And keep them soft and sweet.
For you never know from day to day.
Which ones you'll have to eat.

Hallo Marlene, please give some more feedback on your love hate relationship with the DR. We are thinking of adding a DR to our family, but it would be great to get a female perspective on the bike and how easy or difficult it is to live with the bike.

DR 650 Nice Bike!!!

Hi,

I've had experienced the BMW 650 GS and Dakar, the 1200 GS (hubby's bike) and the BMW XCountry 650(one day). I wouldn't swop my DR for either one.
The BMW's are very good bikes for men but on the heavy side for women. The level of my confidence on my DR is through the roof compared to the other bikes. I LOVE MY DR!!!
The only thing against the DR is the seat, I took mine to a upholstery shop to make the seat softer and it made a big difference. I'm going to Namibia in December and ordered a long range tank, the 13L tank on the bike is a bit small. Oh and get an after market exhaust(tailpiece), the bike's performance and fuel consumption is better.

Cheers

Which upholstery shop did you use and how much did they charge?

Hi Marlene, it is good to have another lady rider on the forum... and one that has evidently done quite a bit of DS riding to add. Nice piccies. Please keep posting more.

I am sure many of the manne would like to discuss a few things with you... I would. I am starting another thread under JOU MA... not to hi-jack yours here... to ask how I can convince Lovy to also ride again.

Dagaty!!!

Nice bike you've got there - go for it!
There is nothing you can do about the past and you can't predict the future...all you have is the now...live it to the fullest.
