Maria was at school with me in Brits. She was a year after me, so she matriculated in 1998. We were very good friends at school, she played first team hockey from Std 8, she was flippen good! Our school (Hoerskool Brits) did not have hockey for boys, so a bunch of us went to play for the "dorp span" we often played against the girls first team, so I know very well that Maria was a very good hockey player!!!
We sort of lost track after school, she added me on facebook when they were doing the bycicle ride a number of years ago. Great to see her living life to the fullest!!!
