I just read a thread on The 4x4 community forum about Mambas striking at cars etc on dirt roads, What if youre on a bike? Youre pretty screwed. Has anyone ever had an encounter?

So you think this snake is clever enough to distinguish between you and the bike, this "unit" coming towards it and accurately strike and hit you on that opening between your glove and your jacket sleeve. And if it misses "it is said" that it can keep up with a horse, so if you ride a white S10, you have no chance at all, it can bite you about 10 times before you move about 10 meters, And if it misses you in ten meters, it can also bite onto its tail and roll faster that the bike can go and being a white bike it will not be very difficult.
And, if you ride in very forested area remember to strap a pot of hot mealie pap onto your helmet, so, if a green mamba waits for you hanging from a branch it will strike into the pap and injure itself and that way you will be saved.
I hope this info is of any value.
