I saw the Centipede eater / Rooi Lippie again. This time with a mate.
Look for a shooting star and see Lynda's trail and remember all the great places you shared with her,she will never forget what she shared with you and will show you that in every starry night .

I came across this little guy today. About 35 cm long, and very anxious to get away from us. Despite calls from the peanut gallery of "Kill it! It's deadly!" I allowed it to get in under the grass carpet and get away. But only after delaying it's travel with a bit of wood so that I could get a pic.

Snake was in a fully built-up area, between two houses. Also apparently quite rare to see, so a cool sighting!

Oh, it's an Eastern Coral Snake...   :thumleft:

There is a non venomous snake that look a lot like that one that makes a great pet, thinks its called a milk snake.

http://crispysnakes.tumblr.com/post/35638517883/coral-snake-vs-milk-snake-from-knewance

Red to yellow, kill a fellow. Red to black, venom lack.
Red and black, friend of Jack; red and yellow kill a fellow.
Red next to black, poison I lack; red next to yellow, run away fellow.

One of the most venomous snakes in the world.

And watch out for the giant snake head fish in the canals  :eek7:

Saw this guy at the top of Dasklip pas, close to Porterville.

At first I thought is was a piece of rubber lying in the road but maybe its a snake so I drove slower. The moment I got close it reared its head. Not backing down an inch!

Quick moving, agitated & angry at life type of snake  :o  :imaposer:

Black spitting cobra perhaps?

I think you're spot on there...Woods black spitting cobra would be my guess as well.

Rinkhals?

Received a parcel yesterday and left the box at the bin. Found this poor bugger stuck to the tape this morning.

Must have been after geckos. Hope it survives after the trouble to free it. Would have left the tape on but it's jaw was also stuck.

In hindsight, should have dusted it with wound powder but it was quite wriggly

We see a lot of molesnakes (and cobras) in the Parklands bush. This is William's pic of the last one.

Great pic. Still trying to fatten up before the winter onset.

I would have thought they would already be battening down the hatches, DW
