Our trip took us anti-clockwise around Lesotho. The magenta route was the trip to the bash. Blue was the route around Rhodes and Tiffendel. Green was the return route home. Our trip was basically 6.5 days with real great company.
On Wednesday we left JHB, slabbing it to Winburg where we kuired and slept over to start dirt on Thursday morning.

We met this couple , Louis and Grieta on their 990 ADV, here high up in the mountains. This is their first WD outing and bash. Baie welkom julle. Mag julle ons forum en mede DS riders geniet.

View from Tiffendel looking west.

Jaydon, “On top of the World” Oupa, dis koud hierbo, maar mooi

Beautiful country, as seen from Tiffendel

Jayden learning to ride behind Oupa. With all the standing Oupa had to do, on serious technical sections. Jaydon got kinda in the way, up-front. In any case he has to learn to ride pillion behind oupa, because soon he will be too big to sit up front. (problem now is he falls asleep on the tank when things get boring. On the back he cant do that anymore.)

Laurika on the move.

Pee stop for Jayden.

Local traffic before Notthingham Road. Don’t sukkel with this traffic.

At Notthingham Road, looking south, from where we had come - Heaven. Gypsy Jay eager to get going. He was running low on tea, at this stage

DaPeeg and “L” enjoying an ale, at a brewery outside Notthingham Road.

North of Ladysmith, I entered a sharp bend with a fine shale surface a bit “hot”. Decided to do emergency braking but failed to stop in time. This is the braking streeeeeeeeeeeeep.

I came to a halt, inside the hole, and fell over to the right. Picked the bike up and rode it spin, spin out of the hole. Spectators were soon to arrive to see the action. No damage except the ego.

Yours Truly on top of Normandiens Pass

Da Peeg doing tyre repairs at the Memel Hotel.

First real long run with this bike. What an absolute pleasure it is. I’d say better than the 1200’s , for sure.

Thanks to everyone that came along on this trip, to make it such a wonderful memory.
