Yeah it works fine on hard flat ground but it's too near to centre line of the bike so on soft ground the bike wants to fall over. I was thinking something along the line of a KLR stand with a bend in it..

No stand works on soft ground. Best bet, an easiest, is to attach a bigger 'foot' to the current stand. An easy mod and can be bolted or weled but id you are welding make sure you don't spike the lektrics ... use gas!!

Or simply take the stand off while welding, its just one bolt and a spring not more than 5min work. I had to lengthen my side stand and while doing that I got a bigger plate welded on and it helps a lot!

ok so I managed to source a 2nd hand side stand with a bend in it from some other bike, fitted it an bike seems a lot more stable. Will post before and after pics later...

Apologies for the delay in replying, I been on leave and out the loop a bit.
Here you see the standard side stand is close to the centre line of the wheels

And here the 2nd hand one with a bend in it

As you can see the 2nd hand ones foot is further from the centre line and makes the bike more stable.
I'm not sure what bike the donor stand came from but I suspect it could also be from a Kawasaki, possibly a KDX.
I took the KLE stand with to a bike shop in PE and looked among their junk till I found the donor stand.
I did not even have to modify the bolt hole, I used the KLE bolt and it simply bolted straight on.

I agree the Kle's sidestand is to up right. The new one that you fit how long is it? Does it stand out a lot when the bike is of the stand. Can you perhaps place a picture or two woth the stand flip up. I am considering to make a stand my self and you input will help a lot thanks.
