Actually now that ive thought about this abit - you not going to like what I say next:

What idiot!! does a backroad, dirt ride through farms and farm fields from JHB to DBN and doesnt carry a spare tube with him, doesnt know how to change a tyre and doesnt have the tools on him to do it.
Then still comes on Wild Dogs and gets scheeky and rips off the very people who helped him out of the kak becuase he feels he has been "over charged"...

Ag ne' ou pal...RAD should send him his R900 back and offer a short technical course for R1000.

In response to the answer by DD that there was an Afrikaans guy who refused to speak English: it wasn't me - I spoke English from the start.

The quirp was, while I was there, and it was evident from my accent that I was Afrikaans: what does DRD stand for? (asked by the chubby guy). Then the skinny guy said: Dutchman Racing Developments.

I have the same right as any other customer to be treated with respect, no matter how cool and "bro-like" the staff are. I'm not their mate, I'm their client.

So far the service I have been getting from them has been very good - they always try make a plan to get the required spares, and I find the hassle factor of dealing with some of the other guys make up for the pricing - especially on new bikes, on which the ones I have got from them have been setup perfectly (whereas some of my other experiences leaves me to question whether the guys even did the PDI!) They have given out loan bikes plenty of times to some of my mates learning to ride / needing a bike, and trade ins etc seem good. My 2c.

This thread could have been a one pager if you didn't feel the need to add four posts

A group of us did the quads 4 quads up run.

RAD had a service tent, so when one guy on a 990 had a flat front wheel he took the bike to them to fix.

Cost R800
Tube R 350
Slime R 100 (why????????)
Labour R 350  :o

The next morning all the slime set in the bottom of the tube so the guy took it to another shop who took it off and fixed it for R120

My 990 fuel filter gave problems, but they were not interested to make a plan. Just said they did not have the special tools, so i fixed it with the tools i had in my back pack.

If a company send a support vehicle / service, are they suppose to rip off a customer?

I think they lost a lot more than what they gained.

They will never see me again!

Why did the slime set in the bottom of the tube? How did you know? Did you ride it to see if it moves?  How did they fix it?

Not taking the piss or anything - just would like to know - seems a bit odd? Maybe you got ripped the R120!
Don't let fear hold you back ..... take it with you!

How much was the advertisement worth to Radworks on this occasion? The miserable remark by a obvious buffoon of a mechanic aside, the pricing was a rip-off. ESPECIALLY seen that it was on a fundraising event.
No pussyfooting around this gnarly one.

Had great service and dealings with RAD. Dave and Ian plus all staff go the extra mile. I have checked some of the prices of accessories at Full Throttle and find RADS prices to be close or in some instances cheaper. Thanks setting up shop close to me.

Serf and Whitedelight, thank you. You grasp my point. At last! Why then do you bitch and complain so much on this thread. Ugly accusations being thrown to and fro, all in the name of charity. Is charity not about caring, love and understanding or am I missing something in the name of charity?

Haha, charity to those in need yes. Not to a dealer.
