A motorcyclist on an unroadworthy Suzuki was arrested after he was allegedly clocked going at 243km/h in a 120km/h zone in Ekurhuleni on Thursday.
"He was flying," said metro police spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.
The man, in his thirties, was nabbed on the N17 in the Rondebult area at 07:45.
The bike was "discontinued" after it was found to have oil leaks, no registration plates and handlebars that were not aligned.
The man would remain behind bars until his appearance in the Boksburg magistrate's court on a charge of reckless and negligent driving on Friday.
