Look forward to Sunday morning. It's going to be warm. Bring more water than you think you can drink.

8am Ace Sports / Cipla.

I was out there on Wednesday. Cleared a small, tight little track. Haven't even ridden it yet. Being alone at the time, I thought discretion etc...

Thank you to Dylan, Charlton, Chad, Lance and Herman for a shorter ride than usual, but nonetheless energetic, and lots of fun.  The new tracklet was pretty silly. Fun was also had in the new excavations. Scary hitting 2 foot deep fesh-fesh
not knowing how deep and extensive it was!

Really good ride today. David M, Lance  and Zanie, Liza and Kevin, Anton, Paul and Kim joined me for a pleasing tour of the old quarry area mostly.

Paul came on his new engined HP2 and showed us what it can do.

David M came on only his second ride and brought his newly acquired CRF230. He covered himself in glory, throwing himself at every obstacle and each technical challenge like a pro.

Good to have Kevin back after recovering from Covid.

Great to meet with Lucas and Andrew for a most convivial debriefing.

Thank you everyone.

Thanks John, great ride and a long awaited debrief afterwards.

Some pics of the bluegum trees we were trying to ride up.

We came across an interesting skull on the way home.

Excellent ride today. Caron, Nicole, Angus, Kevin, DavidM and his bud, Paul came along for a longer than usual, quite energetic ride. Paul was riding an older rather fixed-up GasGas 300 two-smoker. It lasted most of the ride but gave up the ghost just before attempting the "Silly track".  Angus towed him to the safety of the entrance to the dump, from where he borrowed a bike and fetched his bakkie from Cipla. I suppose one should always bring a spare plug and spanner with older 2-strokes.

They've cut down the "Bloody Australians" along most of the Eskom servitudes so the stretch along parallel to the N7 was a jol.

We pulled into the new quarry they've dug for the city dump extension. We came to a place where we faced with a steep, loose, rocky climb. I stopped to tell DavidM this was impossible and ill-advised, but he shot past me and up the slope before I could tell him. So we all just followed. Well done, Nicole and Caron. That was a serious climb

Debrief at the Barrel was never better!

I'm glad to see you are all still riding.  We've only been out that way twice this year and once in lockdown...I know we suck :sip:
I'll see if we can add 3 more riders to the Sunday COVID Free Riding group.

Great!

I'll be away this weekend. But others will still be riding, I'm sure. Katana, Squirrelhunter, Kawaki and others will be out there.

I might ride Monday (I'll post here if I do), but I'll certainly be back on the 28th.

Angus took the group today. By all accounts a spirited and enjoyable one too. Thank you Angus.

Monday, public holiday ride from Ace/Cipla at 2 if anyone is up to it.

Only DavidM was mad enough. But we had a blast. We even made a new little nasty track for you chaps to enjoy on Sunday.

But we did come across a security man who said they were looking for a dangerous criminal who had fled into the Quarry section of  the bush. Let's hope they find him soon. Anyone with connections there is wecome to add to this info - specially to tell us if this person has been apprehended..

I did hear of a couple knife/gun muggings of bikers in the bush around the new mall a few weeks back  :(

Bugger!  It's been quiet and safe out there for several years. I suppose it had to happen.

Ride in groups and stay close together.

But we had an exceptionally good ride today. DavidM, Anton, Herman and Dano joined me for an energetic ride up to the Crater. Here we met Daniel, William and MarkB who all joined us for the rest of the ride. This consisted of the run through the bush up to the intersection of the N7 and the M19. Then it was a flat-out dash back to the top of Morning Star. Then onto the regular areas. We sampled DavidM's first track the wrong way. Heroics were demonstrated. Then the new "Silly track" and on to see if we could play in the dump's newly excavated area. Alas it has been fenced off. And electrical, nogal. Very unsporting!

We came across 5 quads enjoying the tracks. This is great to see the disadvantaged out there.

Thank you everyone. That was so much fun. There are how many active Wild Dogs here in CT? If just a tenth realised what a jol the Parklands Bush is, we'd be inundated.

Which one is DavidM's first track?

I just noticed they they build a tennis court, a socker/hockey field and a skate park on top of the old land fill hill.

The development is inexorable!

DavidM first little track is not very long but a fun addition to the other stuff around there.

.kmz attached.

By the way the buggers have fenced off our new little playground in the dump extension. Most unsporting of them!!!

There has been a real diaspora this Easter weekend.  Most of our regular riders are off on various trips to the interior. Quarriors are riding the Richtersveld, the Karoo and the hidden tracks of the South Coast.  And these are only the ones I know about. It's great that so much exploring is happening.
