I miss you guys and the exercise.

Time to get a bike again. Katana, are you selling the 300 now that you have the Husky?
I am in two minds at the moment.

Then sell the Husky to me.

DavidM, Anton (Kawaki), Rob (Skwedd), Dean, Neil (Redrum), Graham and I did a shorter than usual (17-18kays) ride. But it was nonetheless thoroughly enjoyable - thanks guys. Big up to Kawaki for being such a pillar of strength at the back, and to Rob for conquering everything he was pointed at. Well done!

Fine 30km ride this morning. Squirrel joined us for most of the ride on his 660R. Graham, Caron (Coffee Snob), Anton (Kawaki) , Dean, DavidM and Raymond came along for a spirited and, at times, quite a rough ride, when we ploughed through open areas littered with the thinner branches left behind by the woodcutters.  Altogether satisfactory!

Good to bump into William and Dan, as well as Jason and a host of plastics.

The rain which threatened Sunday has sportingly agreed to move onwards to Monday. If there's anyone fit enough, and in Cape Town, after Atlantis, Adventure rides and the D&D Funduro, they're welcome to join me. Be warned, though, that we'll be opening at least one nasty little track. Still 9am at Ace Sports.

Absolutely great ride!!! Thanks Angus, Craig, DavidM, Dean and Nicole. Welcome back Nicole after beating off the virus. Started off with the usual tracks near the dump. Met up with 9 quad riders at the Meeting Place. Great to see all sorts out there. But I do wish they didn't litter with their stompies. At the sand circle David and Dean had a coming-together while doing donuts and rideabouts. Dean's bike and DavidM's body took the brunt of the damage. DavidM hurt his leg. Then we did a long stretch other side of MorningStar, Then we made our way back via the wall behind the old brick factory, where David fell and did a proper number on his thumb. Then it was on to the Barrel for a top-notch debrief, kindly sponsored by Craig. Not before passing a blanket covered road casualty opposite DuNoon. Last week DavidM and I both saw a similar casualty on the N1 near the split to Canal Walk and the N7. Be careful out there guys, there are so many new drivers and so little law, and so little education. It's going to take a long time.

I nearly forgot the track:

Edit: I was wrong. Both of his injuries happened at the second fall. It was a slow, but sudden fall as the wheels slipped away on wet grass and dumped him hard off the crown of the wall/embankment. David joins the ranks of riders who've hurt themselves here.

Turns out DavidM has cracked a bone in his ankle and will need to have surgery on his thumb!  And he still rode back to Cipla! Tough lad indeed.

I'm sure we all wish him all the best.

13 of us attacked the Parklands bush with some energy this morning.  Big thanks to Liza, Kevin, Kim, Peter, Raymond, Lance, Caron, Rob, Andrew, Herman Dylan and Graham for an outstanding 40km ride. Peter and Lance showed us how to get over enormous logs, one or two folk laid down here and there, but no injuries were suffered in 40km of glorious sunny, perfect weather.

Great ride today. Thank you Angus, Cole, Raymond, Anton, Johan, Dean and Dylan. Dylan, the Atlantis Supaman, and of Adventure Riding Muppets fame, did his first ride with us on a 640. It's a big bike for the job, but Dylan handled it so well and managed a serious ride. Well done. Well done, too, to Johan, on Anton's "230". He coped with so little fuss it was hard to see how new to this stuff he is.

I can't remember when it last rained on a Sunday morning. My son reckons I've got someone important on my side.

But this Sunday looks like it could indeed rain a bit. The forecast puts the rain early in the morning, petering out at 9. Perfect!

If it stays like that we'll again get going at 9. Otherwise Saturday or Sunday afternoons are also good.

The forecast is looking a bit worse for tomorrow. Even the afternoon will be dodgy.  :'(

Let's ride this afternoon.

So Paul (Monkeyboy) joined me on his HP2 for a slightly faster and open ride than usual. Great fun. At one point the HP2 got a bit bogged down in the mud, but our combined effort got it out.  At the time I was wondering how I was going to tell the rescue party where we were!

Here's our track:
