Nov 1 Sth Africa tour
« on: October 14, 2007, 09:40:30 am »
Hi, I'm new to the site and so far it all looks good.
Myself and Bushy will be touring SA, Nam and Botswana. I ask your opinion on hireing either a Sat phone or an epirb. For emergencies only. Which would you guys recommend? Is there somewhere in Capetown where we can hire them from? Do you have any idea what it might cost for 28 days?

Where do you guys hang out? Is there a pub in Capetown you prefer?
Cheers, Colin

Goodday mate.

There's many places in CP to drink, and I am sure the CP lot, would show you the way ;D

Vodacom and MTN rent Satellite phones, not to expensive.

Howdy Mate. Welcome to South Africa. Hpe you have a wonderful time here. Best to watch the Cape Drinks Friday thread in the Jou Ma!!! board for tips at where the drinks will be for that week. Normally Krige's Pub (ex Springbok rugby Captain) in Durbanville is the venue, but there are often alternatives agreed upon by all. If you let us know when you will be around, we can do a midweek beer or two just as a Wild Dog welcome.

Regards
Dagaty!!!
Boertjie weg.

Boertjie, sounds good. It would be good to meet you. I belong to www.dirtbikeworld.net which is very like Wild Dogs it seems. DBW is based in Aust and has a great bunch of blokes to ride with who are also very welcoming like yourselves.
Does Krige's have accomodation? We will be looking for a couple of bunks for one night perhaps.
Cheers, Colin
