Rode a CRF450X
« on: November 04, 2012, 10:49:41 am »
Rode one for the 1st time yesterday.
 :ricky:

I did not expect the bike to pull so strong! I accompanied my friend on my husaberg 550 (which is a beast) and that little 450 was uber strong!
It was geared 14/48 (tall) and I did not expect such a lively bottom + mid and still having lots in upper rev range too  :thumleft:

I am almost certain that the 450X had more bottom + mid than my KTM450.

Comparing to my 550, it's VERY light! It also has more room; the distance between foot pegs, seat and bar is better than on my KTM/Berg bikes and I can actually stand on pegs without bending my knees. Also, it did not feel much less powerful  :o

I will definitely recommend this bike for some technical dual sport rides

I'm extremely happy with this bike, feels solid and fun to ride. Should have done this before going the Husky route. Thanks for the help in setting it up. Check this one for R26000-00 !

This one also still avaliable and I'm sure the price can be knocked down

Did 300km on mine today. Need to change the rear sprocket for cruising speed, countershaft oil seal needs replacement. The bike impressed me, no oil usage and ran strong !

Blazes said it's possible for just about any bike, biggest thing will be to fabricate a mini wiring harness for the indicators etc. Or you could buy one from Baja designs but that is expensive.

What a lekker holiday.....I will definitely do this more.....and go to higher and more technical places that you cannot reach on the big machines.
