How does one get to this Magalies Spar from JHB (Alberton) and how far is it ? Would like to join the dirt ride ,but have to check how far it is from home first.

Where's Alberton? Only Joking. If you can get to Magaliesburg (the town, not the mountain range), you'll pass the Wimpy on the left as you come into town, first road left goes to the Spar. Actually there is only one road in magaliesburg, so you can't really miss it. For everyone else going to Dream Lodge directly, the directions are thus:

Go to magaliesburg, drive through the town, at the Y junction take the R509 to Koster. Drive 17km and take the 'Wind in the Willows' turnoff to the right. This is a farm road so it is not marked on maps/gps. The road goes in the shape of a question mark (?), take the first road right, then there is a dream lodge sign, go right there, then follow the road up to the top of the hill and there you are.

Magalies is about 60km from the center of JHB, so you're in for about 300km in total

I so wish I could join you guys!  :'(

Sundays are generally reserved for other priorities but its also my birthday so its family etc...
I might still be a late entry for a couple of hours.

Enjoy!  I've done some of those dirt roads not to long ago and they where busy grading the surfaces so it should be in good condition.

OK.  I have been given a clean bill of health by the doc.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D    I must just take it easy and not go too wild.

I decided 100km on dirt qualifies as easy.  :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

SO, NO MORE SISSY RIDE!!!!

I will be at Spar Magaliesburg at 7:30.

Miena Moo,  I will get you at the Kentucky in Wierda Park at 6:30.

The only reason I will not ride will be if it is raining.

Will everyone going PM me your cellphone numbers?  If it is raining we can make further plans.

Hi, I know I am rather late but I was very busy. I was hoping to ride with Red, etc on sissy ride on tar but now Red is now fit for the gravel ride.

Red, very glad to hear your good news!

Are there anybody who are still interested on the sissy ride?

And more or less what time will we complete the ride? Will we have a brunch or braai? what are the costs?
Ride Ride and Many more!!!!

May join Groenie with the car if we find a house on Sat.  Wife is coming up for the weekend and we need to find a house to rent in the Centurion area over the weekend.  got a few appointment set up for Sat and Sun with agents - so if we come right on sat we can join on Sun.

Given my current bike-less circumstances I will be caging as well.  Kilroy maybe we should get together and use 1 cage?

You can come with me. The Parratjie is a six seater, the 3 rear seats are taken so there's still 2 available in front.
Don't look back, that's not where you're going.
