30 Nov. Maglarps-Fortress Trelle-Smygehuk ( SWEDEN)

Still half a day on the road in Viking land before it gets very cold. The day is not bad and promises a little 'sun. With the thermometer marks +1 confinement in the direction of Trelleborg. The sun is beginning to be timidly space between the clouds. The short coming near Maglarps in the country west of Trelleborg to visit one of the oldest churches in the region Skåne. The building dates from the second half of the twelfth century and is built of stone. Inside is a beautiful Renaissance pulpit, one of the oldest in the region. The two guards are very kind and give me a little guide of the oldest churches in the area. The church is used for ritual services of the national Swedish Lutheran church. Allocation along the Baltic coast in the town of Trelleborg to arrive shortly to Trelle Fortress. In 1988, archaeologists discovered the remains of a Viking fortress on the highest point of the modern city of Trelleborg. Now on site is a reconstruction of part of the structure, completed in 1995 and is part of a fascinating open-air museum and a covered structure where they are showcasing some artifacts found on site and a large historical reconstruction of this ancient people. After visiting distribution along the coast until reaching the Smygehuk the southernmost tip of Sweden to the east of Trelleborg. Smygehuk is a peninsula of sandy beaches. To the west of the town stands the lighthouse Smygehuk. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1975 and converted into a pension and now leads the local fishermen and pleasure craft in the whole area. I go down to the beach to enjoy the warmth of the sun that has since prevailed in the clouds and to drink a good coffee with excellent chocolate Swedish. Back on the bike I headed inland to Fru Alstad and Hammarlövs. The weather begins to change rapidly and soon the sun and blue skies give way to the clouds that do not promise anything good.
