I honestly think it will look no current BMW available!

He's a newbie.  That was so long ago you can't spot it on the lists anymore. ;)

Aquatic, I think it is going to be cool.  But then I am female and know nothing......

Yeah - just wanted to say - I'm just trying to point out that this is indeed a long expected well look looked forward to bike.

BeeEm has the best marketing money can buy. Year's worth of active speculation.

No-one offended I'm sure - the toppies up top are just having little fanny flaps in their wet panties  >:D

The search function is quite useful though, especially if you are about to post some news on bikes - things like these get posted up here VERY quickly... so do a quick search before you post, and all will be revealed!  ;D

No reason to shut the f... up though :thumleft:

I wasn't fast enough on my 2nd post.
I wanted to say that I didn't mean that post as negative (as I've just said).

If we honestly required every new member to know about / search for possible 'baggage' on anything they might want to post about we will have a 'inside click' in no time. And we don't want that.

Aquatic - that wasn't the intention. Sorry!

Don't sweat it.

As you are I am too awaiting the coming of the much talked about / gossiped F800GS!

Take care!

W.

Tell them IDR.

Mikedabike, can you book a black one for me, please?  As soon as they are delivered, I will come and pick it up.  Add all the available Touratech protection (oh shoot will they have any?) and throw in those huge lights as well.  I want it up front.  Remember the wide footpegs because I like to stand.

I really like it.  OK??    >:D >:D >:D >:D

I agree with Eisbein BMW have the best marketing going on this new model with everybody being so curious.

All good Hildalgo. Ta for the welcome.
Seems the majority of the folks here are friendly and pleasant
However it's all relative, where is friendly on the scale if you don't have some thing to compare?????
Let's leave it there now!

Back to the subject of this post

The way BMW have changed their attitude towards motorcycles over the last ±5 years, think the 800GS WILL be the next step in Darwins evolutionary law. Top of the food chain, the supreme predator! (dramatic huh!!)

All good things come to those who wait, H!

I think they might have a problem though - how many people on this forum would like a badassed 800GS ?

If they brought him out in an 'adventure' package they will see serious drops in the 1200GSA's sales figures.

I think (and this is my opinion) that lots of okes would think the 1200 is too big and the dakar too small.
A narrow 800 twin would be the perfect 'round the world' bike.

But then again, all the BMW smouse (except our own Freakonaleash obviously) that I've met all subscribe to the 'bigger is better' school. If that's the case BMW will be faced with the catch 22: Make the 800 a badass adventure tourer and lose sales on your 'flagship 1200adv', or only bring out a 'softroad version' (like the standard GS) and maybe p off a couple of people.

Or make this (and sell it) as the ulitimate one up around the world tourer alongside the 1200adv - the 'round the world two-up tourer...

I don't know.

I just know that if I hear how the road guys love the 800twin engine on the F800S I think the 800GS will be a very cool and desirable bike.
