I think the KTM already have the F800GS market, I would say they need a bigger 1100 or 1200 version more suited to long distance touring. A Little lowwer to the gound with a better seat a bigger tank and a beefer france to take all that luggage  :) :)

I hope they aim the F800GS more towards the KTM 950.. In fact a bit of both would be great.. A bike that is a little more capable off road like the KTM but built to tour like the big GS's...  That is a bike I would love to own.. I think the Dakar is a brilliant bike, it just needs a bigger engine.. If the F800GS is a bigger Dakar ... Wow that would be a bike to own..

For me I find the KTM's aim very much for the off road rather than a touring bike, and I find the big BMW's more a touring bike than a off roader.. Not saying that neither bike can do the opposite, what I'm saying is I would like a bike that does both well, instead of aiming closer to one aspect than the other.. I hope that makes sense  ??? ???   ;D

Well here is wishing  ;D ;D ;D

H
If all else fail's, I go and ride my BIKE ....

Whatever they come out with, some aspect of the bike is bound to be a compromise - you can't be all things to all men...
There is nothing you can do about the past and you can't predict the future...all you have is the now...live it to the fullest.

Very true.

I think however a Dakar type (size and weight) body with 800 side-by-side twin power will be a better compromise.

Btw - I see you're 9 posts away from 1k!

02/02/12 - RIP Glen - the Arrow of Elliot and the little man with the big heart that truly was larger than life.

You have touched us and left us better for having known you - even if it was only briefly.

For grabbing the moment and living the day It's been way too early that you were taken away
