Newer model Dr650 oil filter prices in SA?
« on: December 24, 2012, 02:19:41 pm »
Hi Dogs

I have recently bought a DR650 se 2008 model and was wondering about the price of the oil filter and availabiblity in and around Pretoria? Am ordering a tank from Procycle and was wondering if i should buy the filter as well!

Anyone have the washable oil filter, from K&N i think! (tell me if its worth it)

Fark a decent type oil seems expensive enough! ( not that will be skimping on filter replacements!)
and she said " What are you doin today ? ".
and I said " Nothing ".
and she said " But you did that yesterday ".
and I said "I haven`t finished yet ".

Washable oil filter? Never heard of.
Did you not mean air filter perhaps?

If I remember correctly, the oil filter cost me about R70-00 at the Suzuki agents. Suzuki Toy store would be your best option in Pretoria. The oil filter can not be reused.

DR oil filters are cheap. I seem to remember paying R45 but it may be R70. I would stick with the OEM and replace every time I do an oil change.

Haven't bought for a while, due to having enough stock in my garage.

Also remember the R 45 a piece. Could be a bit more now.

Try Motor Cycle Mecca Suzuki. Speak to Neels. Not a fancy shop, but prices acceptable.

Aftermarket oil filters are around R 50 and readily available. Just replace with every oil change.

The reusable steel mesh oil filters are rubbish IMHO
