I am planning a 3000km trip through South Africa doing mostly gravel roads and sometimes remote areas in April 2013 SOLO.
I suppose I need a satellite phone for those 10% not under Vodagone areas but who do i phone with either a broken bike or a broken leg?
Medical rescue via chopper? Who? Also read about some "panic button" devices that sends out your gps ref but can't remember who it was?
Where are the days that I got onto a XT500 and went into Bots or Moz without any backup or contact means, always made it back though!
