Glad to see you used proper corned beef and not corned meat. Corned beef  is bloody expensive these days and difficult to find, but Iím convinced the other stuff is made from pig snouts and goat rectums.

I don't think they'll be using the fillet to make corned beef too. ;)

Luckily Heimer is CEO of the Skaapkopgilde. So he's quite used to the taste of the odd bits and ends of animals.

In the army I lost my taste for:

1. Bully Beef.
2. Chicken bloody biryani
3. Standing in line for food.
4. Making a bed.
5. Walking with a load on my back.

Haha. I even refuse to pack a tent. If there's no B&B in the area, I go somewhere else. :peepwall:

Ha, ha, Stofdonkie...after 18 months in Ovambo it took me about 20 years before I could eat bully again. Nowadays bully has become a twice-a-year delicacy (at most). I'm still sukkeling with the other activities that you mention.

Bull Brand with curry and onions, an old favorite  :thumleft:

Hart, long, poepol en tong... soos my pa dit altyd genoem het.

Waar kry mens daardie pakkies cous-cous?

Ek is verbaas dat daai Cous Cous net warm gemaak word sonder dat dit in water gesit word. Bedoelende in direkte kontak met water sodat dit die vloeistof kan absorbeer.

This one, which is proper Corned beef ( not corned meat ) cost around R40,00 a can at Pick n Pay.
Not all branches stock them.

Another brand which also sells corned beef is MAYFAIR.

Die verpakking het sulke fyn gaatjies wat bietjie vog inlaat, dit is sodat die CousCous soort van gaar stoom, flippin neat sou ek dink! :thumleft:

This one has the tongue. The corned meat brands have the "hart, longe en poepol" in.   :imaposer:

Net so. Die sakkies is geperforeer en die cous cous absorbeer die water. Jy sit dit net 'n paar minute in gesoute kookwater. As wil 'n botterklontjie by roer - soveel beter...
