Grrr mega frustration...

No I didn't fail, wasn't given the opportunity to.

I'm sorry we don't test bikes on a friday. But the call centre booked me for sandton for friday, and I came in and paid and confirmed it was for friday and nobody said anything. On my receipt the lady wrote down 2 november 12:50. Yes but the lady who tests doesn't come in on fridays so go home and we'll phone you, it will probably be next wednesday. Oh ok so I have to take another half days leave then. Yes. @!#$@%@#$%

So this week I've been to the department 3 times. Tuesday when I got the sms and called the call centre. Call centre said the office closes at 2, signs on the door says they close at 1:30, I walk in at 1:20. I'm sorry, the confirmations have closed for the day.

Oh and we're not allowed onto the test track to go practice ever, so if anyone knows if someone is running a K53 training tomorrow please let me know, I'm not taking any chances in having to repeat this exercise....

R142 when you confirm your booking and R157 if they give your licence, if I remember correctly.

I double checked, figures are correct.

Ok so I got a new booking date, the Wednesday the 21st November...

Still looking for recommendations for some K53 training, the saturday before the 21st would be ideal, I see BMW has some on the 14th but I can't get that much leave just yet. Any other ideas?

I did everything through them, from booking to lessons etc, and they were great, Johan was a testing officer for a long time and knows all the tracks and tricks, and is great at taking you through everything you will need to know, as well as where all the things you can slip up on are.

More fun, I get a call at 6:30 (I don't do mornings, so the only time I want to be up at 6:30 is when I haven't gone to bed yet) saying sorry, next weeks off, they have to lend equipment from the other branches and don't have it booked so I'll have to come back later.

New date is the 12th December....

I got it! Front wheel locked on the left emergency swerve, loads of gravel was washed onto the track from the rain but I managed to keep some composure. Lady said she couldn't penalise me due to the bad track conditions...

Has anyone ever attempted it on a 950 Adventure? I'm just tall enough for the bike, but I can't flatfoot it.

Can you do the test on a 110 Vuka?

If you want a big boys licence then the bike needs to be a manual, and bigger than 125cc.

A 950 would be interesting, not sure I can recommend it. Most of the test is done at about 25km/h, and the emergency lane changes and tight corners could get interesting on a big bike like that.

Why ?

My heavy GS becomes very agile and maneuverable when it starts going.

I can imagine the size might be intimidating though.

When I got my license the cutoff was 250cc and I had a 150cc Vespa (it was manual though), so I borrowed a Honda 550 four.
Was very big for me back then but I managed it (just)
