Due to some technical difficulties the rest of the ride report will be temporarily delayed.. Seems 5500km trips aren't dangerous, but city riding rather.. hehe..

I know exactly what you mean. For me the best days start at Day 3 and what you describe happens on day 4.

On the first day you are all excited, but not "switched off" yet. That night we usually have a moeruva party and on Day 2 you suffer from FNB (First Night Burnout). 2nd night you go to bed tired and much earlier. On Day 3 you wake refreshed, far from home and the group have settled itself by now. Usually a lovely ride on Day 3. From Day 4 the magic starts...

1978. It's 6am, mid winter...two up on a XL 185S ... off to my first casino ever with all of R40 and we've got a full tank of fuel, so enough to get there we reckon.... that's determination...
